Hi Anne,
I am pretty sure that the man that your grandfather met in prison was my husband Johnni Weber! When telling his testimony he told me of a guy that hitched from Joburg to Beauwfortwest to visit him in prison and tell him about Jesus. He gave him a Bible and food. Johnni knew him from Joburg as an addict and drug dealer but there was a tremendous change in him that made a huge impression on Johnni! He was released after a month in prison the day before Christmas and bumped into this guy again in Joburg who invited him to a church in Norwood, think it was called the Miracle Center! Johnni got saved and radically baptized in the Holy Spirit that night! What was your Grandfathers name? Would be great to put all the pieces together and compare notes….looking forward to hearing from you ~ Cas Weber

Cas Weber responds further to Anne about Johnni.
Hi Anne
I am sure my husband is the same John! Unfortunately Johnni died 2 and a half yrs ago, killed by a drunk driver in Durbs…he was at an evangelism conference there.
I think the other chap that went to the prison with your grandfather was Martin Cooper who also got radically saved out of the drug world. They made a tremendous impact on Johnni and his friends that were in prison with him. They were travelling from Joburg to CT syphoning petrol out of cars along the way! They were caught in Beaufortwest with drugs in their car so sat in prison for a month with no bail!
He was 21yrs old then and went on to become a youth evangelist and then a few years after we were married we went into full-time ministry. Johnni was instrumental in planting many churches in Cape Town and up the Garden Route. We were also missionaries for many years …. We pastored a church in Seychelles for a while. Johnni also went on many missions into Africa ….. Zambia,Angola, Mozambique, Mauritius … America and then from about 2004 we were very involved in missions to Greece.
Johnni loved God utterly and was passionate about evangelism and mentoring young men in ministry!
The Lord really anointed his ministry and used him in the gifts of the Holy Spirit extensively, especially the Word of Knowledge and praying for the sick with radical healings! He had such extreme faith and was a tremendous encourager, always larger than life! God used him to touch many lives and I miss him more than I can say!……
